Lepanto Hospital maintains level 1 status

By Dr. Karizza Claire G. Raguro

The company-owned Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company Hospital has just maintained its level 1 hospital status, as certified by the Department of Health and PhilHealth.

To maintain its certification, Lepanto hospital has undergone various upgrades, like the construction of a new emergency room and the opening of a blood station. New equipment were also procured like the Cardiotocograph Machine to allow closer monitoring of birthing mothers and their babies, and the Laparoscopy Machine. In 2017, the hospital acquired a 100mA X-Ray diagnostic machine.

The Lepanto hospital is the main provider of medical, dental and surgical services not only to the employees and their dependents but also to the residents of Mankayan and neighboring towns like Buguias in Benguet and Cervantes and Quirino in Ilocos Sur. Community members are offered with the most affordable rates, without charging doctor’s professional fees; consultation fee for example is only priced at 100 Php, a CBC is only 170 Php, urinalysis will only cost 70 Php and Dengue DOT is only at 725 Php.

Medical, dental and surgical services are also extended to the communities through medical missions, provisions of health apparatus and equipment and establishment of Botika sa Barangay. Since 2012, the company has started a biennial medical mission that caters to patients from the host and neighboring communities with more than 2,000 patients served. Another medical mission is scheduled this May 2018.
